Amsterdam vinyl club: vol 4

Amsterdam Vinyl Club Vol 4 was bookended by two DJs who’ve been with us since the very beginning – DJ Roland and DJ Tea & 2 Sugars.

But between those sets came a dizzying array of new selectors.

Rob, a long-time friend of AVC, stepped up to the decks with a set dedicated to 1960s band The Equals. In a lovely postscript to the evening, he later gave the records he played to a former member of the band, who no longer had copies of his own back catalogue.

DJ Mouskovich – often found at our shows alongside Damn Good Records – spun a selection of discs that would later find their way into the sales crates, while Adnan Samman treated us to a joyful mix of sounds, including experimental art rock, 70s synth textures and a pinch of soft rock.

Our final two acts, farmer (Juri) and Mr RÖCK!, could not have been more different. But in a room full of music lovers with open ears, heavy rock and tech house sat perfectly side by side.

Amsterdam Vinyl Club Vol 4 felt like a turning point for us. More people were staying to hear every DJ, and Damn Good Records were staying busy beside the vinyl crates. It felt like something was beginning to happen.
